My name is April, and I am a single, 26 year old girl living in Melbourne, trying to get her life into some semblance of order. But in a world ultimately built of chaos, can I ever do it? I try... Some days its like herding cats... Try it some time... I guarantee it will be a hoot.

But I digress...

I am transgendered. Basically this means I was born physically a boy, but with the mind of a girl. This made me quite sad and isolated in the past, as it limited my ability to interact with people in a way that is truly reflective of me. In 2005, I started a Gender Reassignment process right here in Melbourne (hormones and such) and now live full time as a girly girl. One day I hope to have surgery to complete the treatment. :D yay!

A geek at heart, I love computers, pulling things to bits, putting the bits back together into something new and wonderful. I write software for an anti-spam, anti-virus company and also for myself, having made a profession of being a geekin' girl and loving every minute of it. If you like Linux, Delphi, FreePascal, C/C++, Java, COBOL, Visual Basic, want me to set your VCR and all manner of other geeky things then I'm your girl.

I draw, paint, do photography (digital), write poetry and try to create more in this life than I destroy. I'm sometimes thought to be any number of the following adjectives: witty, insane, happy, maudlin, thoughtful, philosophical, caring, deep, weird, lovable, unlovable, ditzy, and just plain odd. There's many more but my moods are like the melbourne weather. In summary, I am me and me is all I can be. *spins around on her tippy toes*

I care about those I trust, and I trust those I care about. I love the ones that love me, and sometimes even the ones that don't. Sometimes I hurt bad, and sometimes I feel wonderful. I'm a mixed bag of soft and squishy sentiments, half dreamed dreams, half baked ideas, wittisms and ideals, all wrapped up in a soft exterior. So be gentle with me, and i'll be gentle with you too. If you prick me, will I not bleed all over the carpet? Definitely. No vampire here, 100% human. Hmmm... my canines are pointy though...

My dream is to live my life as me, and surround myself with like minded souls. Hopefully this little patch of cyberspace helps me achieve that. Likeminded means people I feel a soul connection with. Its hard to describe exactly... Trying to is like trying not to let sand slip between your fingers... Its something tangible, yet intangible at the same time. I know it when I feel it.

So if you want a loyal dependable friend, who will pop in occasionally and say hi and tickle you then ... *hugs*... welcome...
